Whatsa knitting me now?

I have not posted photos in awhile, what with the elections and all. So here is some catchup from there.....

First the WIPs.....2 shawls and 2 scarves.....clockwise from the left:
Frisky Flowers from the kit I won at Stitches this year in a drawing. Koigu KPPPM solid and handpaints. The back story on this is simple....I took the kit to London in May and started to crochet the scarf according to the pattern, ripped it out and crocheted to my own pattern. The scarf itself worked up quick....the 11th gazillion flowers...not so much.

Flower Basket Shawl in Koigu Handpaints. Self explanatory, except for this. I have now ripped it out like 11 times to start over because the stitch count winds up messed up.....

Scarf of my own design in DB Pure Silk in turquoise.

And finally poor languishing Icky in a wool cashmer blend from CONE GUY at Stitches.....(aka Newtons Yarn Country) .

Finally, I have been watching the Caps to the Capitol project a little and then decided to whip out the knitting machine and make some caps with scraps and skein ends, who doesn't have those, right? So here is my output from yesterday on the project.

I would strongly encourage everyone to pull out your small balls and oddball skeins to make up into simple caps......the information on Caps to the Capitol is here. There is an action kit included that has some patterns, sending information as well as a little card to cut out and attach to the cap so show your love and concern for babies who die for lack of a cap to keep their little heads warm.

Here is an excerpt from the Save the Children website:

"Four million newborns die each year within the first month of life — half
within the first 24 hours of life. The United States can lead the way in saving
these young lives by increasing funding for critical health programs for mothers
and newborns. These babies need more than caps — they need your voice, too. We
are asking knitters and crocheters around the country to take three simple steps
to let America’s leaders know they care about saving newborn lives around the
world: Make a cap, Write the President, Unite for newborns."

I encourage you to sit down and knit or crochet up some small balls for the babies! It's a small thing with big impact.
