I don't know that I thought it might really be, but with my history, I dare not take a chance, and so I got me to the physician. According to the doctor, the sore on my lower lip is atypical, but does not look cancerous. She gave it a bath in liquid nitrogen and told me to come back if it does not heal properly in 3-4 weeks.
So when I look at the list of risk factors for skin cancer, the only risk I don't have is that part about having had skin cancer. I have had bad sunburns, even 2nd degree sunburns, bad sunburns as a child, fair skin, light hair and eyes, and some family history of skin cancer.
But today, it's not skin cancer.
